Riverstown is een merk dat Blackadder International creëerde voor delen van de Aziatische markt. Riverstown is een fictief dorpje in onze geliefde whisky land. De whisky is, zoals gebruikelijk is bij Blackadder, nooit koud gefilterd of gekleurd met de gebruikelijke karamel. De whisky die wordt gekozen is vaak exclusief en relatief zeldzaam.

Proefnotitie maltmadness

Glen Mhor 27yo 1982/2010 (55.8%, Riverstown, c#1348, 259 Bts.)
Nose: Big, round and sweet. bakery aroma's. Water Melon. Mellow with some faint perfumy notes emerging.
Taste: Medium sweet start. Fairly harsh finish. Very pronounced tannins. Over time some perfumy traits emerge.
Score: 81 points - it lost two or three points when the dry pine & menthol in the finish became overwhelming.

The Glen Mhor distillery was situated North-West from Inverness. Just as Glen Albyn its water was coming from the famous Loch Ness. In 1954, Glen Mhor was the first distillery to use a mechanical process for the malting of barley.
Glen Mhor became property of the D.C.L (Distillers Company Ltd.) in 1972, ant this company decided to close the distillery in 1983.

The distillery has been demolished in 1986 and a shopping centre has been built on the site. Glen Mhor can still be found in independent bottlers collections.
