Our 10 Year Old Sherry Cask Finish is a combination of a minimum 10 year old Single Grain and Single Malt whiskey from a select number of casks within our distillery inventory. Finished for a minimum of 1 year in the finest old Oloroso Sherry casks to add complexity on both the nose and palate.

Hinch 10 Year Old Sherry Cask Finish is light brown with a subtle red hue and has aromas of fresh fruit with earthy garden-fresh notes. Subtle layers of stewed fruit with an unmistakable nutty aftertaste – sophisticated and complex. Bold, innovative, contemporary Irish whiskey proudly made in County Down.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: The whiskey opens with the aroma of ripe orchard fruits, such as juicy apples and pears. The sweetness of barley sugar and vanilla quickly follow, providing a perfect balance to the rich and slightly tart red fruit notes. Subtle layers of stewed fruit emerge, adding complexity to the nose.

Palate: The first sip reveals sugared malty cereal flavours that are quickly joined by the sweetness of nougat and chocolate-covered marzipan. The dry notes of fruity sherry come through, providing a touch of sultana and a burst of fresh fruit sweetness. The taste ends with ripe pear and a hint of lychee, followed by an unmistakable nutty aftertaste.

Finish: The finish is long and satisfying, with lingering red berries and a hint of earthy vanilla pod. The whiskey leaves a pleasant and complex aftertaste that lingers on the palate, with subtle notes of stewed fruit and a nutty finish.
